Class 70 Locomotive (20003or CC3)
Model of 20003 from various resources collected from the net. There will be a lot of errors as 20003 changed several times through its life. All variants modelled, there are some variants which are also modelled that 20003 did not appear in, such as bag pipes and BR Blue livery. 20003 never wore anything beyond BR Blue and was scrapped by 1968

Coaches

Generic 4 Wheel coaches
Most of the reference of these came out of modeling books. These are not based on any particular prototype, but a mix of several. Current coaches are compartment third and brake compartment third. Painted in Southern Railway livery, also features bump mapping. There is so many different variations, its almost impossible to model all variants

I built this model mostly in 2002, but never saw Trainz for another 15 years. Only ever wanted to build the open variants, so here are 2. Tourist Open First and Tourist Open Third, both in BR Blue and Grey livery. The third has been bump mapped and modified to suit. The first is lacking these features at present.

DMUs
To add, various sprinter type multiple units. These will be available again in the future.
EMUs

British Rail Clas 415 4-EPB and Class 416 2-EPB
These units were built in 2 distinct batches and this is typical of the British Railway designed batch, which dated from 1960 with ’57 traction equipment. Built for the suburban third rail areas of South East London, they quickly spread to other areas of South London, covering all the third rail suburban lines out of all the third rail London terminals, even reaching as far as Brighton. Often used in other areas to supplement the older Class 405 4-SUBs. These then got used on the North London Line from 1985 displacing the Class 501 units until their final withdrawal involving Clas 455s and Networkers.
Includes bogies, 415 TSO, 416 DTSO and 416 DTS(sc), Cab and passenger view
Download here
NOTE Correct formation:
As this is an almost “all saloon” stock, some units had TS’s with Compartments until 1988 when a murder in a compartment (opens a new tab) meant units were reformed thus remaining compartment stock were reformed as DMBSO-TS-TS-DMBSO and became 4-COM as a result, the formation is simple for a 4 car:
DMBSO-TSO-TSO-DMBSO.
As I haven’t done a TS, it should be DMBSO-TSO-TS-DMBSO
However, Class 416s are also easy:
DMBS-DTS or DMBS-DTS(sc). The units represented are in their final years, so from 1990 onwards. EPBs are difficult to track at times as there were many variations, even when moved around and the final fleet, being on the South Eastern division of British Rail.

Merseyrail Class 502
Based on the design of the Merseyrail Class 502 units that were built for the lines out of Liverpool Exchange which later became part of the Northern Line via the “Link line”, these units mainly stayed static throughout their lives working services to Kirkby, Ormskirk and Southport. One unit was dedicated to the Crossen Shuttle (North of Southport) which was a 2 car unit. Unlike the Class 503 below, these generally had no fixed formations throughout much of their lives. Represented is the original batch of coaches (although 1 batch was built) but not the later batch of converted TS to DTC, of which there is only 4 of them. They started being withdrawn from 1980 as the Class 507s gradually replaced them. One 2 car unit however, survives.
Includes bogies, high detailed DMBS, DTC and TS.
BEWARE, the DMBS is over 120,00 polygons.
Download here
NOTE Correct formation:
All dependent on the services that you intend to use these trains on:
In traffic (3 car) – DMBS + TC + DTS (Note the “short” buffers faces the DMBS on the TC, the long buffers to the DTS)
Rush hour Southport to Liverpool services: DMBS + TS + DTC + TS + DMBS (Usually a 2 car DMBS + TC to a 3 car unit)
Reportedly rare: DMBS + DTC+ DTC + TS + DMBS
Crossens Shuttle: DMBS + DTC
Unlike the Class 503s, the Class 502s formations often varied to traffic loads.

Merseyrail Class 503
An WIP model depicting LMS Wirral Line stock (later Class 503) that ran on Merseyside lines between 1938 and 1985. These were largely replaced by newer units in the 1980s. One preserved and a lot of references are based on the preserved unit. There are some inaccuracies due to limitations of the Trainz Jet engine and the T2 TANE engine. E.g. the EP brakes work differently than the self lapping style brakes. The model is based of the 1956 batch
Includes 3 coaches with emergency end doors (rebuilt), cab, bogie and enginespecs.
Download here
Dependencies available on Download Station
NOTE Correct formation:
DMBS-TC(or TS)-DTS
When dragged for works attention, the DMBS and DTC would be coupled together as the driving coaches did not have drophead buckeye couplings, the inner ends had screw link couplings, suitable for locomotive haulage. 1938 and 1956 Class 503’s can be intermixed with each other. However, unrebuilt and rebuilt units don’t seem to of worked together, possibly due to the air pipe duplication on the rebuilt units cab fronts.

Park Royal Railbus
Built during the 1950s, these were like many prototypes were meant to save branch lines, which they failed to do. These particular ones were part of an order of 22, 3 allocated to the Midland area and 2 to the Scottish area. This is a hybrid of both (I.e. with some Scottish stuff and some Midland stuff) as the Scottish ones have retractable steps. These didn’t last long in service and were gone by 1968.

LEV 2 and LEV 3
These were British Rail’s second attempt at producing a low cost vehicle for rural branch lines. Unlike the above, these came from a high speed freight wagon project (whereas the above vehicles were custom designs) using as many bus components as possible. In this case, Leyland National. Both vehicles did see service, one around the world before being broken up un 2020 in the USA, the other had been in service in the UK, then Northern Ireland before returning to the UK in June 2025.

Class 142
This is a debate whether it belongs here or under DMUs. Please sent a message. These were a development of the Class 141 with wider bodies, still based on Leyland Nationals. The 96 strong fleet remained in service for over 34 years until replaced in 2020 by modern units and the requirements to withdraw them under PRM-TSI legislation in the UK These units could be found for a time all over the UK except the South East where they faced restrictions due to the third rail. They’ve been passed to many operators and have operated on many routes, from lightly used routes to routes with much heavier traffic. Not known for their comfort, they were enjoyed, bounced and endured by passengers and enthusiasts alike for years.

Fictional

Class 475
A set of fictional units that are good in urban settings. These are articulated units that have drawn inspiration from multi-section trams such as the Alstom Citadis family of trams. There is a previous generation of design that is slightly different, but the overall concept is the same. I’ve added some up to date bits such as high capacity modules and pantograph/diesel modules. These were designed around 2021
Includes all the modules and an example 5 car set.

Correct formations:
There isn’t necessarily one, feel free to mix and match with the Class 477 and the 475s They are the same basic design. At a minimum, Driving module – short TSO – Motor or Trailer module – Long TSO. For the other end, it’s the same. This unit was designed to be as flexible as possible

Class 479 Railcar
Possibly one of those designs that may never exist and shouldn’t exist, I tried to design and model a railcar to see what would happen in a 23m long body, that could work on AC/DC lines and have all the usual amenities that larger stock has. Designed to run singly or together with other stock, this is the result. Yes, it some how works and looks as though it shouldn’t;

APM assets – underground station, updated track, elevated track, ground and elevated stations

(Updated) Westinghouse C-100 Automated People Mover
I guess it counts as some sort of train as these are guided vehicles and work in multiple. These APMs can be found in several places, mostly airports, but Miami, USA and Singapore, Thaliland also use these or a variant in urban settings. Many other systems use similar vehicles for urban mass transport systems which ironically was the initial idea. In fact, the first one was built on a test track in the 1960’s to get funding for the Pittsburgh, USA skybus project. (Sadly, the project was doomed for political reasons but found its first installation in Tampa Airport, USA)

Bombardier CX-100
A development of the above, these units came out later as a replacement of the C-100 vehicles that had been in operation in cities and Airports world wide. There area also a lot of variations of the CX-100 vehicles as they had a particularly long lifespan, with the first ones appearing in 1994 looking more like a C-100 as above, to the now rebranded Innovia 100 range. This particular example is based on Seattle Tacoma Airport’s fleet, which has a unique style compared to other vehicles. For a bit of fun, I also produced a mutli vehicle variant. (In reality, it would be 3 single cars put together, some versions having a bar coupling, such as Gatwick Airport).
